Exibitions at Szimpla café -

Szimpla Café has been the home of all kinds of exhibitions for a month in the last half year. Szimpla Cafe has a cosy atmosphere and it is ideal for being the place for displaying artworks from different areas of creativity. The huge walls have already hosted many pieces. We had an exhibition of posters, participating Kinga Tóth, exhibition of paintings by young artist for example Alexandra Hahn or Zsuzsi Kovács. Our aim clearly is to give an opportunity for the artists who have just started to introduce themselves. Many people visit us for sure and not only to have a coffee or some other drink but also to see the exhibited material.
The last one showing the pictures by Misi Horváth (mouth organ player) was opened 27th February. The mostly black and white pictures were taken during his performances at night. Misi, as he is first of all a musician, shows us the intimate atmosphere where he lives in plays and the musicians (Jenő Fekete, Sony, Ádám Török etc.) who he goes out and performs together with from night to night at different places in Budapest. Misi turns up at concerts and other events spontaneously to record what he feels inside. What makes his pictures credible is that they are taken by a person who lives together he takes photos of, he knows their reactions, gestures and sometimes even their rhythm of breath.
You can see these exciting photos all March long in Szimpla Café (Kertész Street 48. opening hours: 10 am-2 am)
