Farmers' Market in Kazinczy street -

The Szimpla Háztáji (Farm Shop) has been opened since 13rd October. A place for tasting, trying, being fed, eating up, taking away, munching on food made entirely the essence of what is available at the Szimpla Farmers’ Market provided for you even on weekdays. Why did we do this? We do not want you to miss all the magical delicacies that the producers sell. Come and enjoy the taste of home, the products well-known from the market, which are used to make soups, dishes, sandwiches and cakes.

What characterises us? Material fetish.  Backyard culture. Local fair trade – so first producers’ drinks and foods. All of this without compromise. And it’s called farmers’ for a reason; it is net farmers’ as we like it on Sundays. Homemade soups, cakes, and sandwiches. Every day there will be two soups, one with meat, the other vegan made by Andi Béres. The mangalica hot dog is standard but we cook from what is on season. Cakes, strudels, cottage cheese, poppy seed, apple all from the Szimpla oven. There will be pumpkin, poppy seed, apple pie but we will make pear cake and cottage cheese cake Kazinczy stlye. Of course the excellent coffee (Has Bean), freshly squeezed juices (beetroot, carrot, apple, etc), sandwiches with varying toppings, vegetable pestos, chutneys, yoghurts, cheese creams.
The moving bulletin shows films about the market showing real farmers atmosphere as a shop window project.
Our takeaway equipment is super-degradable; they are not only lied to be green, so feel free to take them with you. This is the real white spot on the map of hosting so we drew into it a experimental workshop and kitchen. First of all it is a test that we do out of curiosity.

We opened and we will get closer to our maxims day by day.
The shop is fed by the Szimpla Farmers’ Market and nourishes the citizens and visitors of Budapest.
There is also the fact that our coffees, lattes and cappuccinos are made of Has Bean coffee. Do not be surprised to experience a totally new, a bit unusual, creamy and a little sour taste. It comes from the coffee’s fruity softness and the fortunate characteristic that it is not as acidic as most of the coffees in Budapest. Try it, we are sure that in the long run you will love it.

Come to Kazinczy, let’s have the atmosphere of the market every day.

One year in pictures - Farmer's Market

The Szimpla Farmers’ Market has existed for more than one and a half year. It is a very unique and special event every Sunday in Budapest since the 10th June 2012. So the first anniversary of the market, where kids and grown-ups, people from the capital and from the countryside, or even from abroad do their weekly shopping of the very best products every Sunday, was recently. The market is not only home for the stalls of primary producers who sell quality products but also hosts several other programs such as the community cooking. This means that every time the members of different NGOs cook for the hungry shoppers and raise money for a good cause. Besides these, there is always something to celebrate, to remember, to pay attention to, so especially during the spring and summer season there are exhibitions, music, screening, flower market, festivals and different programs for children. And as we are very proud of it, we share the news again, that the Market won an award in Vienna at the tender of SozialMarie among dozens of applicants it came in the first 15 (Details: here). Recently we announced our community cooking tender, the decision has been made, and the results will be revealed soon. The successful applicants, their projects will be introduced in the following weeks.

You are welcome during the summer when you are not sitting on a beach as when you are in Budapest there is nothing better to do than come to the Szimpla Farmers’ Market on Sundays between 9 am and 2 pm.
