I’m sure many of you remember when there used to be an official cinema in the Szimpla Kert a few years ago. Kazinczy 14 hosted cartoon festivals and daily screenings. Now during the summer this tradition will revive so again, every two weeks you can see films in The dictator of the Heart series: great emotions, parallel universes in a pink haze on the screen, we show German melodramas with English subs while serving syrupy drinks. First film is the La Habanera made in 1937, directed by Douglas Sirk. A failed love story of an exalted Swedish tourist lady and a Caribbean macho landlord. This is the last German film (inspired by a romantic song) of the director, who emigrated to Hollywood and was Rainer Werner’s favourite director.Kertmozi – 24.
