Our group of four travelled to Transylvania by a car fully packed with equipment to the middle of the land of Székely’s. The location was a village, named Parajd. Out home and ’base camp’ was a wooden house with a fireplace at the edge of the village on the hill-side.
We started our trips from here. The highest peak we reached was the 1900 meters high Tóka peak in the Csalhó mountains. We got here on the given tracking route. We started off early, travelled 200 kilometers by car and hiked 1400 meter difference in level up and again 1400 meters down. Under the 1800 meters high summit the weather was so wonderful that we started shirt-sleeve bouldering.
Bouldering is a type of mountaineering. It consists of a row of grips and steps of different difficulties: all these steps and solutions are the so called ’stunts’. All this happens 4-5 meters high from the ground. Needs only a couple of gears: mounteneering shoes, a sack of magnesia, sometimes portable mattress to ease the falls. Those who’s been climbing together for long can catch each other also to ease the fall. The partner stands right under the climber with arms in the air watching the climber move, following the climber in case of locomotion while is always ready to catch the climber. The falling one should be catched by the armpit. Climbing like this on artificial wall in a climbing hall is also bouldering.

Our slackline equipment also couldn’t have a rest for long. In such a breathtaking environment we started to balance and practice while the sun went down. Not much is needed for this sport: 2 big trees, nice weather, some food for picnic and time flies in good spirits.
